The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly weighing legal action against Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani on Saturday after he withdrew from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The Zimbabwe pacer was roped in by KKR as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman, who was released from his IPL contract following instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Muzarabani had been signed by Islamabad United for PKR11m for PSL season 11 but opted to forfeit the contract after receiving an offer from the Knight Riders.
The PCB believes Muzarabani breached contractual obligations by withdrawing at such a late stage and is considering legal avenues in response, a Geo Super report told.
This is not the first time the PSL has faced such an issue. Last year, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch pulled out of his contract with Peshawar Zalmi after being selected as a Diamond Pick, choosing instead to join the Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement.
That incident resulted in Bosch receiving a one-year ban from the PSL.
Muzarabani, who has played 89 T20 Internationals for Zimbabwe, was one of the standout performers at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
He finished as the joint third-highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps as Zimbabwe advanced to the Super Eights, significantly boosting his demand on the global franchise circuit.
