Leicester City’s Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Choudhury made his return from a knee injury during Saturday’s afternoon kickoff against Ipswich Town in the English Championship, alleviating the national side’s concerns regarding his availability for the upcoming Singapore encounter.

The 28-year old appeared as a 82nd minute substitute, coming in for Ricardo Pereira, having last featured for the Foxes in January when he suffered a knee injury during their Championship clash against Charlton Athletic.

The Bengal Tigers will take on Singapore away from home on 31 March in their last match of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, prior to which the men in red and green are likely to play a friendly away to Vietnam on 26 March.

After his injury, initial reports suggested he could be sidelined for four to six weeks, clouding his participation in these two matches, but the star Bangladesh midfielder has scripted a quicker return.

Javier Cabrera’s side will conclude their ongoing Asian Cup qualifiers campaign against Singapore, following which Hamza will turn his full attention to the Midlands outfit, who are mired in the relegation zone of English football’s second tier.

On a winless run of 10 matches in the league, the Foxes were held to a 1-1 draw in Portman Road on Saturday, and will next face Bristol City at home on Tuesday.
