Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana is sharpening his focus on accuracy after spending valuable time with senior left-armer Mustafizur Rahman, as both gear up for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.

Nahid confirmed that PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi had approached him even before the draft, signalling strong interest in the young fast bowler. However, he stressed that selection in the playing XI is beyond his control.

“Before the draft, Peshawar Zalmi contacted me,” Nahid said. “But whether I play matches or not is not in my hands. What’s in my hands is how I perform and how I improve my skills. That’s what I’m working on.”

Having previously been picked in the PSL but returning early without much opportunity, Nahid is hopeful of making a stronger mark this time.

He will not be alone in representing Bangladesh. Mustafizur, Parvez Hossain Emon and Rishad Hossain are also set to feature in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Ahead of the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League one-day competition, Nahid was seen spending time with Mustafizur, discussing the finer details of pace bowling.

“Whenever we meet, we talk about cricket,” he said. “We were mainly talking about how to improve accuracy.”
