Hannan backs 300-plus total at Shaheed Chandu Stadium

North Zone’s head coach Hannan Sarkar believes a 300-plus total is well within reach at Shaheed Chandu Stadium, describing the surface as one of the best in the country, ahead of the Bangladesh Cricket League One-Day Version.

Speaking in Bogura on Saturday, Hannan praised the pitch conditions ahead of the upcoming fixture.

“It’s a good wicket,” the former cricketer said. “There are still two days, and it’s being prepared properly. It was watered today, and there’s more time tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be a very good wicket.”

Asked whether fans could witness a 300-plus score, the former opener did not hesitate.

“Very much possible,” Hannan replied. “It depends on how the players perform, but I think it’s achievable.”

He also highlighted the quick outfield, which could further favour the batters.

“It’s a very good wicket, and the outfield seems fast. It’s an excellent environment for both bowlers and batters.”
