Bangladesh cricketer Nasir Hossain revealed on Friday that he has received only 25% of his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) payment, with 75% still outstanding.
When asked whether he had been paid, the all-rounder who played for Dhaka Capitals responded bluntly: “No.”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nasir clarified: “Only 25% is clear. 75% is still pending.”
The experienced batsman said repeated assurances have been given, but payments have yet to materialise.
“They say tomorrow, then the day after… like that,” he added.
“Mithu bhai (Iftekhar Rahman, Bangladesh Cricket Board Director and BPL Governing Council Member Secretary) is in the Governing Committee. He assured us they would wait until this month. If they can’t pay by this month, then I think some of the money from the Dhaka team’s bank guarantee will be used to pay us,” the right-handed batter said.
“We will get the payment, but maybe a bit later,” he concluded.
