Rangpur Riders all-rounder Faheem Ashraf said on Wednesday that his main focus is to contribute to the team’s success, describing Rangpur as a 'lucky charm' for him during the ongoing Bashundhara Cement Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Speaking to the media at the Home of Riders, Bashundhara Sports City, the left-handed batter was asked whether he considered himself fortunate for the Riders.
“The Rangpur fans can answer that,” Faheem said. “As a player, my goal is always to do my best for the team, perform well, and give maximum effort. The fans can decide the rest, but I would say Rangpur has been a lucky charm for me.”
The Pakistan all-rounder expressed confidence in his side’s ability to bounce back despite recent setbacks.
“This is cricket; anything can happen. Rangpur is the kind of team that can make a comeback from anywhere,” he said. “Even when I left, the team was in a good position, and we are still in a good spot now. We just need one win to regain momentum. After that, you will see us in the playoffs and, hopefully, in the final.”
The 31-year-old also spoke about his excitement ahead of returning to the squad.
“When you leave your team while they are playing well and you were also performing, you feel even more motivated when you return,” he added. “Our team is pushing for the playoffs, and I want to come back and contribute even more.”
