Dhaka Capitals’ Chief Executive Officer, Atik Fahad, has voiced sharp criticism against the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) following recent scrutiny of star batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Fahad described the ACU’s conduct as deeply unprofessional and damaging to Bangladesh cricket’s reputation.
He condemned the sudden intrusion into Gurbaz’s personal space, saying, “But suddenly, going into the room of a big foreign player - someone who is playing in the ILT20 and elsewhere - and creating trouble like that…if he was not in his senses of sleep, he would have literally abused them. Is this not a negative impact on the image of Bangladesh as a whole?”
Fahad emphasised that the ACU should have exercised caution before approaching a high-profile player, adding, “The Anti-Corruption unit should have at least considered this before going to such a player…but this type of behaviour with a big player is something neither he can accept nor can we accept.”
He stressed that the Dhaka Capitals remain focused. “Insha’Allah, no matter how difficult the situation…we will snatch victories again. Insha’Allah, we will meet in the final.”
Fahad’s remarks underline growing frustration within the BPL over what he calls ACU’s overreach and mishandling of sensitive matters.
