Rishad picks two as Hurricanes restrict Renegades to 162

Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain delivered another effective spell in the Big Bash League as Hobart Hurricanes restricted Melbourne Renegades to 162 for nine in their allotted 20 overs on Monday.

Playing his fifth match of the tournament, Rishad bowled his full quota of four overs, claiming two key wickets for 34 runs to help keep the Renegades in check. His first breakthrough came with the dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan, who was removed for 16, before the 23-year-old leg-spinner struck again to send back Jake Fraser-McGurk, shifting momentum firmly in Hurricanes’ favour.

Rishad’s timely strikes played an important role in slowing Melbourne’s scoring during the middle overs and preventing a late surge.

With these two wickets, Rishad has now taken eight wickets in five matches in the ongoing BBL. Hobart Hurricanes will need to chase 163 runs to secure victory and move back to the top of the points table.
