Taskin says Mustafizur ‘deserves more’ after IPL ₹9.2cr deal

Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has praised teammate Mustafizur Rahman following his ₹9.2 crore move to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, saying the left-arm pacer’s value in world cricket continues to rise after another impressive season on the global T20 circuit.

“Fizz is a very proven player in world cricket,” Taskin told reporters in Sylhet. “If he had been bought for more money, it would not have been surprising, because he deserves it.”

Mustafizur recently enjoyed a strong run in the UAE-based ILT20 league, where he picked up 15 wickets in eight matches.

“He has proven himself again and again — in the IPL and now in the ILT20,” Taskin said. “He deserves even more.”

Taskin said Mustafizur’s success reflects not only individual excellence but also the growing recognition of Bangladeshi players on the global stage.

“If this continues, the value of Bangladeshi players will increase everywhere,” he added.
