Bangladesh's leg-spinner Rishad Hossain secured a spot in the playing XI for Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday against the Melbourne Renegades, delivering a tight and economical performance by taking 1 wicket for just 21 runs in his allotted 4 overs.

Captain Ellis introduced Rishad into the attack in the fifth over of the innings. Although he started well, the right-arm leg-spinner conceded 7 runs in that over, including a boundary.

Rishad’s second over followed a similar pattern, as the 23-year-old again gave away 7 runs but remained wicketless. His return for a second spell in the 11th over proved particularly economical, as he conceded just 3 runs.

The breakthrough finally came in the final over of his spell. On the third delivery, Rishad bowled a googly that tempted Jake Fraser-McGurk into attempting a big shot. The right-handed batter misjudged the line, and the ball crashed into the stumps. Rishad ended his spell with figures of 1 wicket for 21 runs from 4 overs.
