The match against Southampton did not go well at all for the 10-man Leicester City team. Midway through the game, Leicester was blown away 3-0 by Southampton in the EFL Championship. Hamza Choudhury took the field on Wednesday, wearing the captain's armband. After the match, Hamza, the captain of the Bangladesh National Football Team, sent a message of bouncing back to his teammates and supporters.
Leicester fell behind 0-2 early on at Southampton's home ground, conceding goals in the 18th and 23rd minutes. Then, to make matters worse, Leicester's Olabade Aluko saw a red card in the 33rd minute. Eleven minutes later, the 10-man Leicester side fell further behind.
With this defeat, Leicester has dropped to 13th place with 24 points from 17 matches. Hamza's team is now 16 points behind the table-toppers, Coventry. Meanwhile, Southampton sits at 11th place with the same number of points as Leicester.
After the match, Leicester’s captain Hamza Choudhury said,
"We have to be stronger. We have to unite and give our all. This is not just what we deserve, but what the fans deserve too. Especially for those who traveled to watch the game."
Leicester City will take the field again next Saturday at 6:30 PM Bangladesh Time. Hamza and his team will face Sheffield United, the team where he played on loan the previous season.
