Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and game development committee chairman Ishtiaque Sadeque has emphasized that his committee aims to make women’s cricket an integral part of the country’s core cricket development.

He made the remarks on Day 1 of the BCB’s inaugural Bangladesh Cricket Conference 2025, held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday.

“I want to see women’s cricket not as a side project, but as an integral part of our core development,” he said. “On this issue, I request our women representatives to share their valuable opinions with us.”

Sadeque also praised the nation’s love and passion for cricket, highlighting its unifying spirit.

“This country is a land of passionate cricket lovers. In the eyes of our youth, there burns a fire that one day can rule the world. Our women’s cricket team has carved out its place on the international stage, which stands as a great source of inspiration,” he added.

“On behalf of the Game Development Committee, I urge you all to engage in open discussions over these two days—to strike at the root of the problems. We want to hear about your real, on-field experiences. Let us not only talk about today’s achievements but also plan together where we want to see Bangladesh cricket ten years from now—let us make that visionary plan together,” he stated.

“Our Game Development Committee will take note of every valuable suggestion from this conference and prepare a practical roadmap, which, Insha’Allah, will be implemented in every district and division,” he said.

“Let us remember—today’s discussion is not just about game strategies; it is about national pride and our pledge to guide the next generation towards a healthy and positive path. Our collective effort, honesty, and hard work can lift Bangladesh to new heights. Let us take a united pledge—that no talent is ever lost due to a lack of opportunity. From grassroots to the international stage, let us ensure quality training, proper facilities, and equal opportunities at every level,” he concluded.
