PriyoShop brings Bangla AI voice ordering

Retailers can now place orders on PriyoShop by simply speaking in Bangla, as the digital commerce platform has introduced an AI-powered voice-ordering feature aimed at making restocking faster and easier.
The feature allows shopkeepers to describe what they need in everyday language instead of searching manually for product names and stock-keeping units (SKUs), according to a press release.
The AI system can recognise regional expressions, product names, credit terms and commonly used retail language before identifying the relevant products, quantities and order details.
The initiative targets Bangladesh’s large base of small retailers, many of whom are more comfortable communicating verbally than navigating text-heavy digital platforms.
“Bangladesh has 5 million retailers and they are not so digitally enhanced. They always need something easy to use. And all of them speak Bengali. They need something that can serve them with their own voice and language,” said Asikul Alam Khan, founder and CEO of PriyoShop.
“That is why we built the AI voice order process in our app. Building a voice ordering experience around how they actually communicate is how we make sure the systems we build serve every retailer,” he added.
The company said the system was developed specifically for Bangla speech rather than adapted from an English-language platform. The company is also using AI and automation across ordering, financing, delivery and data services.
The new feature brings voice-based commerce to Bangladesh’s small-retail sector, with Bangla serving as the primary interface for product ordering.
