Deepika announces motherhood initiative

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has embraced motherhood for the second time. The actor and husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their second daughter on 19 September, nearly two years after the birth of their first daughter, Dua. The couple announced the news through a simple Instagram post that read, “Welcome baby girl! 19|9|2026 Dua. Deepika & Ranveer." 

Motherhood, however, may soon become more than a personal chapter for Deepika. The actor is quietly working on a new initiative that puts the early years of motherhood at its centre. Details are still being kept under wraps, but the project is said to be closely connected to her own experience of becoming a mother of two.
