4 ministries get new secretaries

In the latest administrative reshuffle, the government has reassigned senior bureaucrats, appointing new secretaries to four ministries. 

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications on Thursday announcing the latest postings, including the promotion of two additional secretaries to the rank of secretary.

Md Obaidur Rahman has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. Before the appointment, he was attached to the Ministry of Public Administration as a secretary and had previously served as secretary to the Ministry of Industries.

He succeeds Md Nazrul Islam, who retired as housing secretary on 30 July.

Meanwhile, Jasmin Nahar, formerly an additional secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been promoted to secretary and assigned to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

Md Sakhawat Hossain, who had been serving as secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.

In another change, Power Division Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam has been transferred to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Meanwhile, Md Ziaul Haque, an additional secretary in the Power Division, has been promoted to the rank of secretary and will continue serving in the same division in his new capacity.
