Ahead of the election in the Bogura-6 and Sherpur-3 constituencies, motorcycle movement will be banned in these two electoral areas for the next three days, starting from early Wednesday.

Mohammad Monir Hossain, deputy secretary of the Election Commission (EC), confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

The letter sent to the Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division said that the by-election for the vacant Bogura-6 seat and the election for the Sherpur-3 seat of the 13th National Parliament will be held on Thursday.  A ban has been imposed on the movement of pickup vans, microbuses, trucks, taxi cabs, and private cars from midnight on the day before the scheduled polling day, specifically from 8-9 April. Additionally, a ban on motorcycle movement will remain in effect from 8 to 10 April.

However, restrictions will be relaxed for law enforcement agencies, the armed forces, administration, authorised observers, vehicles engaged in emergency services, and vehicles transporting medicine, medical supplies, and newspapers.
