Hanif Sanket dedicates Independence Award to viewers

The government has announced this year’s Swadhinata Puraskar, the country’s highest civilian honour. This prestigious award will be conferred on 15 distinguished individuals and five institutions this year.

In the culture category, the award will be presented to renowned producer and presenter AKM Hanif, widely known as Hanif Sanket, and celebrated musician Bashir Ahmed (posthumously).

Notably, Hanif Sanket has dedicated the award to his viewers.

Sharing the news on his social media account, Hanif Sanket wrote, “I am happy to inform you that the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has awarded me the Swadhinata Puraskar in culture this year. This achievement is not mine alone—this achievement belongs to all those whose love, support, and cooperation made my long journey in the cultural arena possible. On this happy day, I express my gratitude to all of them.”

Regarding dedicating the award to the audience, he further wrote, “I dedicate this award to my millions of viewers.”

Hanif Sanket also said that receiving such recognition increases responsibility and provides inspiration for future work.

Sharing his plans, he wrote, “I believe that a healthy culture can enlighten society and bring honour to the country. I want to continue working for the country through the practice of healthy culture for the rest of my life. Just as I have worked responsibly in the past, I will continue to do so in the future. This award will further encourage me to move forward. Please pray for me.”
