BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the public to vote “Yes” in the upcoming referendum to support state reforms, saying the vote will determine whether the country moves toward change or continues on its old path.
“The central question of this referendum is simple—who
wants reform and who does not,” Fakhrul said. “Those who ran the country the
way it was have fled. To fix the country, reforms are essential, and this
referendum is meant to decide that. Those who want reform should vote ‘Yes,’
and those who do not should vote ‘No.’ We want reforms, so we urge everyone to
vote ‘Yes.’”
He made the remarks at a roadside rally in the Galim
Babur Hat area of Jagannathpur union in Thakurgaon-1 constituency on Sunday
morning.
Addressing members of the Hindu community, Fakhrul
said he would always stand by them and assured that no one would be allowed to
harm them.

Speaking to the general public, he said the country would face a decisive moment in the next three days.
“The decision will be whether the country continues as before or moves forward on a new path,” he said, adding that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman represents a young, energetic, and modern leadership.
He also called for a young prime minister with fresh ideas to lead the country forward, urging people to unite in support of change.
