Nahid to deliver election speech on BTV

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has decided to deliver his election speech to the nation through BTV.

The party sent an application in this regard to the Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday, NCP Joint Chief Coordinator Mahbub Alam said in a media statement.

In the application, NCP asked the EC to reserve a slot at BTV and Bangladesh Betar for Nahid's speech ahead of the general elections on 12 February, the media statement read.

The EC is yet to respond to the application.

It has pledged to give leaders of every political party, which is taking part in the elections, the opportunity to broadcast their election message to the nation through state media.

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has applied for a slot on 9 February. The EC has already approved BNP’s request as it was the first to submit an application.
