his commitment to solving long-standing regional issues, particularly in
northern region, he said, "We will solve the Tista River project and end
the disproportional budget allocation in the northern region, if elected."
He noted
that the people of northern region have been victims of neglect. "We will
work to ensure fair development for all," he added, expressing
determination to mitigate the gaps created over the decade.
He promised
to dismantle the 'wealthy syndicates' controlling the area, if elected.
Addressing
the election campaign, NCP Election Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Shojib
Bhuiyan said the party will ensure justice for various past massacres,
including the Shapla Square killings and others, if elected.
"We
will make sure that those, who have been involved in the killings of people
like Felani and others, are not given a chance to return to power. We will
stand against any form of fascism and oppression," he said.
NCP's
leaders urged the public to vote in favor of the "Yes" in the
referendum, stressing that doing so would ensure a better future for the people
of Bangladesh, particularly in ending corruption, establishing better
governance, and providing fair representation for all citizens.
