BNP Joint Secretary General and Mymensingh-1 constituency candidate Syed Emran Saleh Prince on Friday campaigned across different areas of Haluaghat upazila, seeking votes for the party’s electoral symbol, the sheaf of paddy.

Addressing street meetings, courtyard gatherings, and public interactions, Prince said the upcoming election is not merely about a change of power but about transforming the fate of the people.

He expressed confidence that the majority of citizens want BNP in power and that the party, under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, would form the next government.

He said Haluaghat and Dhobaura, located at the foothills of the Garo Hills, have long remained neglected and would no longer be left behind.

Promising development, he said electing a BNP MP from the constituency would ensure progress in infrastructure, employment, and overall welfare.

Criticising independent candidates contesting in violation of party commitments, Prince said the people seek roads, bridges, industries, and jobs—not short-term inducements.

He emphasised that BNP’s plans, including farmer cards, family cards, and employment generation, aim to uplift marginalised communities.

Calling on voters to support the sheaf of paddy, he said voting for BNP means development, justice, and people’s governance.

He added that the political vision initiated by late president Ziaur Rahman and implemented by former prime minister Khaleda Zia would be carried forward through Tarique’s plans for employment, education, healthcare, and connectivity.

Throughout the day, Prince held meetings in several unions, markets, and neighborhoods, and in the evening attended a sports event where he pledged to work for building a stadium in Haluaghat and promoting year-round sports and cultural activities to keep youth away from drugs and violence.

Local BNP leaders, freedom fighters, community leaders, businesspersons, and a large number of residents attended the campaign events.
