BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Friday urged efforts to build a Bangladesh where every citizen can live with dignity and self-respect.
He made the call around noon on Friday while
addressing a wheelchair distribution programme for children and adolescents
with special needs at a hotel in Bogura.
The event was organised by CSF Global, with the
initiative led by Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of Tarique Rahman.
The programme was broadcast through the BNP’s
verified Facebook page, party sources confirmed.
Speaking as the chief guest, Tarique said, “Let us
all work together to build a Bangladesh where, to varying degrees, every person
has dignity and can live with self-respect.”
Highlighting society’s responsibility toward
children with special needs, he said many of them possess unique talents that
others may not have.
“If we stand by these individuals from social,
political, and state levels, I believe Bangladesh will be able to bring forward
many talented people,” he added.
Addressing the event, Zubaida outlined specific
plans for a future Bangladesh, stating that the BNP remains committed to
national development and the establishment of humanitarian values.
