PM joins ZRF’s 27th founding anniversary programme

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday joined a discussion marking the 27th founding anniversary of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) as the chief guest.
The programme began at the Shaheed Abu Sayed International Convention Centre in the capital’s Shahbagh area in the evening.
ZRF Vice-President Dr Zubaida Rahman and BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi attended the event as special guests.
Prof Morshed Hasan Khan, director of the foundation and convener of the anniversary celebration committee, delivered the welcome address at the programme being chaired by ZRF Executive Director Prof Farhad Halim.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by screening of a video documentary highlighting the foundation’s philanthropic activities.
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Social Welfare Minister Prof Abu Zafar Md Zahid Hossain, Food Minister Afroza Khanam and State Minister for Land Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, among others, also attended the programme. 
Prof Sarkar Mahbub Ahmed Shamim, member secretary of the committee, moderated the event.
Tarique stood by people during crises despite living abroad: Rizvi
The BNP acting secretary general said Tarique Rahman had stood by the people during national crises and disasters despite living abroad for 17 years.
