Govt shakes up additional secretary posts

The government has reshuffled seven secretaries, promoted an additional secretary and appointed two additional secretaries, the Ministry of Public Administration said on Sunday.
Shipping Secretary Zakaria has been named chairman of the National River Conservation Commission. Commerce Secretary Md Ataur Rahman Khan has been made secretary of the Ministry of Shipping. Textiles and Jute Secretary Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury has been transferred to the Ministry of Commerce, while Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary Ayesha Akter has been promoted to secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
Dr Md Kamruzzaman, rector of National Development Administration Academy, was appointed secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Division. Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Bilkis Jahan Rimi was transferred to the Planning Commission as a member.
Youth and Sports Secretary Md Mahbub Ul Alam has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration. Youth and Sports Additional Secretary Mahfuzul Alam Khan was appointed as acting secretary. Liberation War Affairs Secretary Md Ashraful Islam was appointed rector of the National Academy for Planning and Development.
Md Abul Hasanat Humayun Kabir, director general of the Department of Land Records and Surveys, has been appointed acting secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
