PM commends Coast Guard for patriotism, professionalism

Prime Minister (PM) Tarique Rahman on Tuesday commended the Coast Guard for its patriotism, professionalism, and highest level of preparedness to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
The PM made the remarks during a courtesy call by Bangladesh Coast Guard Director General Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Haque at his office in the cabinet division, read a press release.
Exchanging greetings, the prime minister directed the Bangladesh Coast Guard to continue its dedicated efforts in maintaining peace and security in coastal and riverine areas.
He also asked the coast guard to continue carrying out humanitarian and disaster response operations in the public interest.
The prime minister assured the director general that the government would continue to support the force’s modernisation and development efforts in the future.
The Coast Guard Director General briefed the PM on its ongoing development initiatives.
