A total of 30 students of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa (Tongi branch) have been expelled after authorities found conclusive evidence of examination malpractice and answer script tampering.
The disciplinary action was announced in a special notice issued by the madrasa authorities on Monday.
Mohammad Salman, assistant professor in charge of examinations, confirmed the development.
According to the authorities, the decision was taken to uphold the institution's long-standing reputation, academic standards, examination integrity and overall discipline.
The allegations surfaced following the recently held examinations, including the half-yearly exams for students from the pre-primary (Shishu) level to Class IX, the pre-test examination for Class X, and the Alim first-year final examination-2026. Several students were accused of manipulating answer scripts and resorting to unfair means during the examinations.
Following a re-evaluation of answer scripts and an internal investigation, the authorities said the allegations were substantiated, prompting the expulsion of the students involved.
An analysis of the expelled students shows that 12 were from the Alim first year, the highest among all classes. The remaining students include eight from Class VII, three from Class VIII, two from Class IX, three from Class X, and two from Class VI.
