ABG University Cup buzz hits NSU, AIUB

The ABG University Cup 2026 campaign brought sporting excitement to North South University (NSU) and American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on Wednesday, with around 150 students taking part in sports challenges across the two campuses.

The initiative, launched by Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG) Chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir, aims to encourage young people to embrace sports and promote a professional sporting culture at university level.

NSU hosted a ball-juggling contest, while AIUB staged the Digi Penalty Challenge. Winners received Tk5,000 each, with Tk10,000 distributed in prize money across the two events.

The organisers also distributed fan jerseys and engaged students through various sports-related activities, creating a festive atmosphere on both campuses.

The tournament will begin under floodlights at ABG Sports City on 25 October, featuring 20 cricket and football teams from 10 leading private universities. The champions will receive Tk10 lakh and the runners-up Tk5 lakh, with a total prize pool of Tk30 lakh.
