Shakib-Arshad-Himel reunites in New York, sparking new film buzz

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan, producer Arshad Adnan and director Himel Ashraf are back in the spotlight. The trio, who achieved major success with the consecutive films “Priyotoma” and “Rajkumar”, were recently seen together in New York, fuelling speculation that they may be preparing to collaborate on another film.

For some time, there have been reports that Arshad Adnan and Himel Ashraf are planning a new project with Shakib Khan. The film is reportedly being considered for an Eid 2027 release. However, neither the production company nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed the project so far.

Discussions about the new film began last June, when producer Arshad Adnan shared a photograph with Himel Ashraf, offering a glimpse of their upcoming plans. In the post, he said he wanted to create something ambitious on a large scale for Bangladeshi audiences and that preparations had already begun to turn the vision into reality.

Arshad Adnan also hinted at the film’s storyline. According to him, the project will explore family relationships and love, while incorporating a local narrative rooted in the lives of ordinary people and the land.

At the time, however, the producer did not reveal the cast. He said their immediate focus was on developing the story and that the hero’s name would be announced at the appropriate time.

Since then, Shakib Khan’s name has repeatedly surfaced in discussions surrounding the project. The speculation is understandable, as he previously worked with Arshad Adnan and Himel Ashraf on “Priyotoma” and “Rajkumar”, both of which became successful releases.

The latest buzz gained momentum after the three were spotted together in New York. Photographs of their meeting have circulated on social media, prompting fans to wonder whether the gathering was related to plans for another film.

Multiple sources have claimed that the project is moving towards a possible Eid 2027 release. Nevertheless, important details including the film's title, cast, shooting schedule and release date have yet to be officially announced.
