Eyes fixed on the clock and ears attentive as the sun dips below the horizon, the call for Maghrib prayer finally arrives. With the first bite of dates, we break our day-long fast. Ramadan has begun, and with Dhaka’s ever-expanding restaurant scene, the anticipation for iftar only heightens our craving for delicious meals. Whether you are looking for a hearty pre-dawn meal or a lavish evening feast to break your fast, there is something for every appetite and budget this holy month.
ICCB Heritage Restaurant
ICCB Heritage Restaurant is taking a distinctly regal approach to iftar this year with its Mughal-e-Majlish menu. The name sets the tone perfectly for what is essentially a feast fit for royalty. Spread across four thoughtfully designed combos, the menu draws heavily from Mughal culinary traditions, and the results are as impressive on the plate as they are on paper.
The entry option, Combo-1 priced at Tk590, pairs classic favourites such as Shahi Lassi or lemonade, premium dates and Shahi Jilapi with Shahi Veg Pakora, Paratha-e-Shahzada, Kabab-e-Resham, Shahi Egg Chop and a serving of sliced fruits.
Combo-2, priced at Tk740, introduces Badshahi Jilapi, Reshmi Piyaju, Lamboo Roti, Musallam Shikh and Shahi Veg Golle.
Combo-3, at Tk580, offers a more robust, meat-forward selection with Jalal-e-Jali Kebab, Subahdar-e-Gaur, Tandoor-e-Murg Musallam and Shahi Paneer Golle.
The highlight of the menu, Combo-4 priced at Tk750, combines Jalal-e-Jali Kebab, Mughal-e-Adana Kebab, Paratha-e-Shahzada or Lamboo Roti, Badshahi Jilapi and Shahi Veg Pakora, a spread that reads like something straight from a royal court kitchen. All combos include mineral water, and prices are exclusive of VAT.
Meritage Dhaka
Meritage Dhaka is going big this Ramadan with a Sehri buffet that is nothing short of impressive. For just Tk799, diners at its Dhanmondi outlet on Satmasjid Road can enjoy more than 85 items.
The menu features a wide range of Bangladeshi favourites, including Mutton Kacchi Biryani, Beef Tehari, Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, Beef Chuijhal, prawn dishes, Rui fish and even Shutki Aloo Bhuna for those who prefer traditional flavours. It is a rare opportunity to sample premium and diverse dishes under one roof before the fast begins.
Rustic Eatery
With branches across Dhanmondi, Banani, Uttara and Shantinagar, Rustic Eatery has crafted a Ramadan menu that caters to both ends of the day.
Their Sehri platters, priced between Tk1,045 and Tk1,095 before VAT, are served from midnight until the last order at 3:30 am, making them one of the few restaurants keeping the kitchen open deep into the night. Each platter features generous servings such as BBQ chicken, chicken katsu, stuffed boneless chicken, sausage mushroom and the popular Lychee Lime drink. They are also offering a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal on Sehri platters, effectively doubling the feast for groups.
For iftar, Rustic Eatery offers three platters ranging from Tk945 to Tk1,145. The most indulgent option features sliced grilled beef with mushrooms in a spicy sauce, paired with prawn wraps, crab sausage wraps, mashed potatoes, BBQ rice and a jar of chocolate cream to finish.
Brew Buddies
If you are craving Arabian flavours, head to Brew Buddies. Their Arabian Kabsa for four people is priced at Tk2,200, making it an excellent choice for families breaking their fast together.
Solo diners can enjoy a single portion for Tk630, while a Grilled Chicken Rice Meal is available for Tk530. Their Dhanmondi branch on Satmasjid Road operates from 2 pm until 5 am, making it convenient for both iftar and sehri diners.
Smashed Burgers
For those seeking a more adventurous dining experience, Smashed Burgers has introduced two bold Ramadan deals.
Their unlimited chicken feast priced at Tk1,190 allows diners to eat as much chicken as they can within 60 minutes. The rule is simple: one full serving must be finished before ordering the next.
Those looking for an even bigger challenge can try the unlimited burger feast at Tk1,390, where diners can enjoy as many smashed burgers as possible within the same time limit. Flavours include Jalapeño Blazed, Hell-Fire and the classic All-American BBQ. Both deals are dine-in only, include bottomless soft drinks and are strictly for one person, with no sharing permitted.
Khao San
The full moon fest has returned at Khao San. Running from 23 February until the Eid holidays, this all-you-can-eat Thai feast is available nightly from 8 pm to 2 am at their Dhanmondi, Gulshan and Uttara outlets.
Priced at Tk1,199 per person, including bottomless soft drinks, it offers excellent value. Families dining with children aged 5 to 11 pay half price, while children under 5 dine free.
Guests have a 120-minute dining window starting from the first dish served, and the last admission is at midnight. The restaurant also maintains a strict policy on food waste; any unfinished food will be charged according to the regular menu price. The best approach is to order smaller portions and request refills, which are typically served within around ten minutes. Reservations are recommended due to high demand, and the offer is strictly dine-in only, with no takeaway permitted.
A Month of Shared Meals
