The Netherland’s Vice Minister for International Cooperation Steven Collet met with young civil society members and entrepreneurs in two separate engagements during his recent visit to Bangladesh.
In discussions with civil society members, including
human rights activists, youth leaders, journalists and young academics, the
vice minister heard their perspectives on Bangladesh’s recent history, its
evolving political landscape, and the challenges and aspirations, the Dutch
Embassy said in a social media post.
In a separate meeting with entrepreneurs from the
Orange Corners programme, private-sector partners and ecosystem leaders,
discussions focused on creating greater opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Key
issues included addressing barriers to women’s meaningful economic
participation, improving access to finance and markets, and strengthening the
role of institutions in supporting entrepreneurship.
These exchanges provided valuable opportunities to
listen to diverse perspectives and explore how cooperation can support
inclusive economic opportunities, youth engagement and women’s empowerment in
Bangladesh.
