The Bangladesh High Commission in London has dismissed an online media report which claimed that an immigration raid took place at the High Commission, describing it as “false, baseless, and misleading”.
The Bangladesh High Commission, located at 28 Queen’s Gate, London, said it remained closed on 25 June on the occasion of Ashura.
“The video shows authorities visiting the adjacent residential building at 27 Queen’s Gate. The High Commission’s consular services are provided from 27 Queen’s Gate; however, the relevant entrance to the consular section is from Queen’s Gate Terrace. The street entrance shown in the circulated video is used to access another part of the residential building, not the consular services section,” it said in a Facebook post.
The High Commission urged the media outlet concerned and others to refrain from publishing or circulating unverified and misleading information.
It also requested media outlets to verify facts with official sources before publishing any report concerning the High Commission.
