The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has urged Bangladeshi expatriates living in Saudi Arabia to exercise the utmost caution when dealing with allegations of criminal activity.

The embassy also instructed nationals not to detain or physically assault anyone on their own based on accusations.

In a notice issued on Monday (6 July), the embassy said that if anyone is suspected of being involved in a crime or if a crime is witnessed, the matter should be reported immediately to Saudi law enforcement authorities.

Bangladeshis were advised to contact the emergency hotlines 999 or 911 if necessary.

The embassy further warned that, under Saudi law, unlawfully detaining or physically abusing a person—even if they are accused of a crime—is considered a serious criminal offense.

It called on all Bangladeshi nationals to remain vigilant and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

The notice also urged all Bangladeshis residing in Saudi Arabia to comply with local laws and exercise the highest level of caution in such situations.
