The shooting of the movie “Dhakaiya Devdas” has resumed without popular Dhallywood heroine Shobnom Bubly.
The actress will also not be part of the upcoming shooting schedule of “Dhakaiya Devdas”, as she is currently on a maternity break. The actress had taken a break while filming the movie and has not yet returned to work.
Although there were reports that Bubly would resume shooting in September or October, her return has been postponed for now.
Director Zahid Hossain confirmed the news to the media. “A few days ago, we shot a boat-race sequence on the Buriganga River. We will shoot the Durga Puja sequences next month and return to filming again in January. Bubly is expected to resume shooting in January,” he said.
The director added that some of Bubly’s scenes are part of the Puja sequence, but the team will shoot the surrounding scenes without her. Bubly’s remaining scenes will be shot at Dhakeshwari Temple in January.

The film “Dhakaiya Devdas” depicts the rich heritage of Old Dhaka, featuring scenes around Muharram, iftar markets, Eid processions, along with traditional songs.
The cast of the project also includes Ador Azad, Rashed Mamun Apu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Lutfor Hasan George, Tariq Anam Khan, Misha Sawdagor, Dipa Khondokar, Rozi Siddiqui and Dilara Zaman.
According to the director, about 20–25% shooting of the film has already been completed and he plans to release the film after Eid-ul-Azha in 2027.
