In the evolving cultural landscape of Dhaka City, Nahiyan Zaman Sammo stands as a refined and determined voice of youth leadership, marked by vision, discipline, and a deep commitment to cultural harmony.

His achievements have been recognized at distinguished platforms. He was named the Best Student of Alfadanga Upazila in National Education Week 2023 and later honored as the Best Student of Dhaka Metropolitan City in National Education Week 2026, organized by the Ministry of Education. These recognitions reflect not merely academic distinction, but a holistic excellence shaped by cultural engagement and social awareness.

Serving as the College Cultural Prefect of Dhaka Residential Model College, Sammo has redefined the scope of student participation in cultural life. With a sense of responsibility rarely seen at such a young age, he has worked tirelessly to ensure that both residential and day students are equally represented in external cultural festivals and competitions. Where institutional barriers once limited participation, his persistence has created pathways, making cultural engagement more accessible and structured.

As a writer and reciter, his creative expression carries a quiet intensity. His poetry collection ‘Nokkhotrer Noishobdo’ reflects a contemplative voice that seeks meaning beyond the surface. His editorial leadership as the first editor of ‘July Barta’ and ‘Bihongo’ has contributed to shaping literary and cultural discourse within his academic community.

In parallel, as the President of the Remians Cultural Club, Sammo has guided the organization to a period of remarkable growth and prominence. Under his leadership, the club has crossed significant milestones and established itself at a peak of activity, engagement, and influence within the institutional cultural sphere.

Beyond titles and achievements lies a deeper conviction that defines his work. Sammo is striving, with heart and soul, to strengthen the cultural sector within Dhaka Residential Model College and across Dhaka. His vision transcends conventional boundaries. He advocates for a cultural environment where no individual lives in fear or hesitation regarding their identity. Whether Chakma, Marma, Bangalee, or from any other community, he believes each cultural identity deserves equal dignity and space.

In this belief, he places profound emphasis on the idea of a shared Bangladeshi cultural identity. For him, culture is not confined within a single ethnic narrative but expands into a collective belonging that unites diverse traditions under one national spirit. This perspective, both inclusive and forward looking, seeks to cultivate respect, coexistence, and pride among all communities.

As the founding president of Rupam, an online cultural forum, he has transformed vision into action. The initiative 1st National Cultural Jubilation 2025 brought together participants from over twenty districts, fostering a sense of unity through artistic expression. His leadership continued with the successful organization of a national cultural festival in 2024 and the launch of the 2nd National Cultural Festival 2026 titled Anondodhara, further extending the reach of youth driven cultural movements.

He is also regarded as a motivator whose words and actions inspire engagement, discipline, and purpose among his peers. In his quiet yet resolute manner, he embodies the spirit of a volunteer devoted to the greater human community, where culture becomes a bridge rather than a boundary.

From Alfadanga to Dhaka, his journey reflects not only personal achievement but a broader commitment to cultural awakening. Through his roles as a prefect, writer, cultural activist, and organizational leader, Nahiyan Zaman Sammo continues to shape a narrative where culture is not merely preserved, but consciously nurtured, protected, and elevated for all.
