Four international exhibitions on construction and infrastructure, wood, interior design and solar products began simultaneously at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Thursday.

The exhibitions, which began at the Expo Village of ICCB, will continue until 19 September.

The 10th Bangladesh Buildcon, 10th Bangladesh Wood Expo, Interior Expo and Solar Bangla Expo have been jointly organised by ASK Trade & Exhibitions and Futurex Trade, with Interior Design Bangladesh (IDB) serving as the knowledge partner.

Dr Engineer Giasuddin Haider, director general of the Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI) and additional chief engineer of the Public Works Department, formally inaugurated the exhibitions.

In his opening remarks, Giasuddin Haider said Bangladesh was making rapid progress in infrastructure, housing and modern furniture industries.

“To sustain this growth, we need to increase the use of affordable, environment-friendly and modern technologies,” he said, adding that the exhibitions would provide local entrepreneurs and industry owners with an opportunity to explore modern machinery, environment-friendly construction materials and new technologies.

Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, managing director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions, said the event was a platform for users of construction, wood, interior and solar products to explore new technologies, networking opportunities and business prospects.

Visitors can explore a range of products and technologies, including adhesives, CNC boilers, fibre and CO2 lasers, wood printing technology, concrete block machines, hardware, particle boards, power tools, construction equipment, pipes, cables, sealants and construction chemicals.

The exhibitions also feature ceramics, electrical switches, water pumps, solar equipment, kitchen appliances, home automation systems and aluminium panels.

As part of the event, IDB will organise a special seminar titled “Arch Interior Bridge-2026” at 10am on 19 September, where leading architects and industry experts will discuss the relationship between architecture and interior design.

The exhibitions are open to visitors from 11am to 7pm every day.
