Messe Frankfurt, EPB to promote Bangladeshi products globally

Messe Frankfurt Bangladesh and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) have discussed ways to promote Bangladeshi products in global markets through major international trade fairs.
Messe Frankfurt Bangladesh CEO Omer Salahuddin met EPB Vice Chairman Muhammad Hasan Arif at the EPB office in Dhaka on Monday.
Arif had visited Texworld Apparel Sourcing in Paris earlier this month, where he met several Bangladeshi exhibitors. Monday’s meeting was a follow-up to that visit.
The meeting discussed Bangladesh’s participation in upcoming Messe Frankfurt trade fairs and ways to help local industries benefit more from Messe Frankfurt’s extensive global network.
Bangladesh already has a strong presence at Messe Frankfurt events, including Apparel Sourcing in Paris and the US, Heimtextil and Ambiente in Frankfurt, and the upcoming Eurobike.
The two sides reviewed the upcoming event calendar and stressed the importance of confirming exhibition space early to ensure good locations for Bangladeshi companies in the halls.
They also discussed ways to increase visitor traffic to Bangladesh’s national pavilions at major trade fairs.
Salahuddin outlined how Messe Frankfurt could support Bangladesh beyond providing exhibition space, including stronger branding of national pavilions, seminars on Bangladesh, and press and media exposure during the fairs.

“Bangladesh’s story is bigger than volume. The goal is to show buyers the quality, compliance and sustainability work the industry has put in,” he said.
Messe Frankfurt Bangladesh will work with the EPB to organise pre-show sessions in Dhaka to help first-time exhibitors prepare for fairs, follow up with buyers and secure better returns from their participation.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of adapting exhibition displays to different markets and products, with greater focus on trends, colours and presentation methods, rather than simply attending trade fairs.
Bangladesh has more LEED-certified green factories than any other country, but buyers are often unaware of this. Messe Frankfurt trade fairs have dedicated sustainability platforms, including the Heimtextil Green Directory and Econogy Finder at Apparel Sourcing Paris.
Both sides agreed that Bangladeshi exhibitors should make greater use of these platforms to showcase their sustainability efforts.
Omer Salahuddin said, “We look forward to having an information booth at the upcoming Global Sourcing Show in Dhaka in November, and we have a number of activities planned for the end of 2026 and the start of 2027.
“In such challenging times, it is important for manufacturers to be even more visible to their customers and buyers, and this is equally true for us as Messe Frankfurt.
“We plan to be more active in Dhaka over the next few months. When exhibiting abroad, companies are paying in euros or dollars, along with travel, freight and stand costs, so it is important to choose the right fair carefully and not waste money, time and effort on low-quality shows.”
