Career guidance discussion held at college in Lalmonirhat

A career guidance discussion was held at Sheikh Shafiuddin Commerce College in Lalmonirhat to raise students’ awareness about future career planning, higher education, and preparation for professional life.

The event was organized by the Sheikh Shafiuddin Commerce College branch of Bashundhara Shuvosangho on the college premises on Monday.

The discussion emphasized the importance of developing students’ skills and abilities alongside their academic studies, setting clear future goals, and making proper use of time to build the career they aspire to.

The chief guest at the event was Entazur Rahman, principal of Sheikh Shafiuddin Commerce College and an adviser to the Lalmonirhat District branch of Bashundhara Shuvosangho. Also present were Shuvosangho’s college branch Advisers Santosh Kumar Barman and Md Tajul Islam, President Md Nahid Alam Rabbi, General Secretary Mosammat Sanjida Khatun, and Executive Member Dipa Rani.

During the discussion, speakers said that achieving good academic results alone is not enough to build a successful career in today’s competitive world. Students need to identify their interests, abilities, and potential and move forward with specific goals. Alongside their studies, they should focus on developing communication skills, information technology knowledge, English-language proficiency, leadership qualities, and other practical skills.

The speakers further emphasized that students should develop an understanding of higher education opportunities, competitive examinations, and job preparation from their college years. They should set future goals and prepare themselves accordingly through regular study, continuous skill development, and personal improvement.

They also said that college life is one of the most important periods for shaping one’s future. Therefore, students should not limit this time merely to achieving good examination results; instead, they should use it to develop their knowledge, skills, and personality. With proper planning, regular study, hard work, and patience, every student can achieve their desired goals.

Following the discussion, members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho welcomed the new students of Sheikh Shafiuddin Commerce College by presenting them with pens. The members extended their best wishes to the newcomers as they began their college journey and wished them a bright and successful future.

The organizers said that Bashundhara Shuvosangho will continue to arrange similar programs to raise awareness among students, develop their skills, and provide them with proper guidance regarding their future careers.
