Shuvosangho distributes saplings in Dinajpur

Bashundhara Shuvosangho’ s Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) unit distributed around 70 fruit and timber saplings among people from different walks of life in Dinajpur on Tuesday, aiming to promote greenery and raise environmental awareness.

The programme was organised in areas adjacent to HSTU on Tuesday (8 September) under the theme “Let the country turn green and make every breath of the future pure”.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Md Ahsan Habib, adviser to the Bashundhara Shuvosangho HSTU unit and assistant professor of the Department of Zoology and Nutrition at HSTU.

Speaking at the event, Dr Ahsan said trees play a vital role in maintaining environmental balance.

“Tree planting and sapling distribution are not one-day programmes; they are part of a long-term social movement to build an environment-friendly society,” he said.

Bashundhara Shuvosangho HSTU unit President Jannatul Ferdous Hridoy said distributing trees was not only a source of happiness but also a way of developing a sense of social responsibility.

General Secretary Imran Hasan said trees help maintain environmental balance and urged people to plant more trees to make their surroundings greener.
