Shuvosangho organised a discussion meeting on cybercrime awareness at the Science
and Technology University (GSTU) on Tuesday. Around 50 students from various
departments of the university participated in the event.
At the
beginning of the program, Bashundhara Shuvosangho GSTU branch General Secretary
Rezwanul Islam welcomed the guests and students.
Lecturer
Md Ali Biswas of the Department of Information and Communication Technology at
AKM Sarwar Jan Biswas College in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila attended the
discussion as the keynote speaker.
He said,
“The internet has certainly made our lives easier and better, but to a large
extent, it is also causing us to move away from various social values. The use
of the internet has made government activities easier, while also creating
opportunities for corruption in various sectors. Cybercrime is increasing
worldwide. We need to overcome these challenges and learn how to use the
internet properly.”
He
stressed the importance of students being cautious when using social media,
avoiding clicking on unfamiliar links, protecting personal information and
passwords, and not sharing any information without verifying it.

Shuvosangho Gopalganj district branch President Sujon Das said, “To eliminate
cybercrime, we need to understand cyber awareness and increase such
initiatives. Students need to be encouraged to use the internet properly.
Everything has both positive and negative aspects. We need to make use of the
positive aspects. Only then can we build a better society and country.”

Shuvosangho GSTU branch President Mujahidul Islam Sabbir said, “Provocative
information is often spread through social media, creating disorder in society.

encouraging students to use technology positively, responsible behavior online
must also be ensured.”
