With the aim of encouraging school children to participate
in sports and supporting their physical and mental development, Bashundhara
Shuvosangho distributed sports equipment at Satisha Poura Government Primary
School in Gauripur, Mymensingh on Tuesday.
The items included skipping ropes for girls; footballs,
cricket bats and balls for boys; and chess equipment.
Assistant teachers of the school, Zarina Akter, Trishna Pal,
and Suraiya Akter; Shuvosangho Gauripur branch General Secretary Md Harun Mia, Assistant
General Secretary Mahmuda Akter Lily, Literature Secretary Nur Mohammad Shafi,
and members Sohel Rana, Khairul Islam, and Mohammad Naim, were present.
Before the event, students were urged to develop a habit of
reading books regularly and stay away from mobile phone addiction. During the
school assembly, Bashundhara Shuvosangho Assistant General Secretary Mahmuda Akter
Lily led the students in taking an oath to this end.
Zarina Akter said, “There is no alternative to sports for building a healthy and strong generation. Although our school has sports equipment, it is inadequate compared with the number of students. We see various social initiatives of Bashundhara Shuvosangho on social media. Such humanitarian activities by the organization will play an important role in the welfare of the country and its people.”
