Cybercrime awareness seminar held at Jamalpur tech university

Bashundhara Shuvosangho hosted a seminar on awareness against cybercrime and disinformation at the Jamalpur Science and Technology University on Monday.

The speakers said, “Although social media is an important medium for the exchange of information, the risks of misinformation, rumors, and cybercrime are increasing. Therefore, they urged people to verify information before sharing, behave responsibly, and encouraged the younger generation to be aware and ethical in using digital platforms.”

At the event, Jeenat Mia Azizul, member secretary at Chhatra Dal’s university unit; Yasir Arafat; and Md Jasim Uddin, advisers of Shuvsangho’s university unit; were present, among others.

Invited guests who also spoke included Kaler Kantho district correspondent Rakib Hasan Nayan, Robotics Club President Abdullah Al Minhaj, Sobuj Shopno President Arman Alif, Green Voice President Tausif Ahmed, Rajshahi Association General Secretary Nirab Khan; and debater Mantasha Nusrat Prokriti.

The event was presided over by Humayun Kabir, president of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s university unit, and moderated by Shah Newaz Ahmed Akash, the unit’s general secretary.
