Victory Month drawing competition held in Chirirbandar

A unique drawing competition has been held in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur on the occasion of the Victory Month.

Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Chirirbandar upazila unit organised the event on the Central Memorial Monument premises on Sunday, aiming to instil the spirit of the Liberation War, patriotism, and foster creativity among the new generation.

About 30 students from two educational institutions – Meher Hossain Residential Model School and Riazul Madina Islami School – participated in the programme. 

During the competition, the students depicted the Great Liberation War, the sacrifices of martyrs, the national flag, the joy of victory, and the dream of independent Bangladesh on canvas with colours and brushstrokes, captivating the audience present.

At the event, Meher Hossain Residential Model School Headteacher Mizanur Rahman said, “Organising such a drawing competition by Bashundhara Shuvosangho in the Victory Month is truly a commendable initiative. Through this, students’ creative talents will be nurtured, and they will gain a deeper understanding of the history of the Liberation War. Heartfelt thanks to the organisers.”

Valiant freedom fighter Md Moksed Ali, assistant teacher of the fine arts department Munmun Akter, Chirirbandar unit Shuvosangho President Mostakim Al Hasnat, Assistant Organising Secretary Chanchal Roy, Executive members Nazmul Islam and Parvez were present, among others.

The organisers said that Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s main goal is to instil patriotism, humanity, and the spirit of the Liberation War among children and adolescents through various social and cultural activities throughout the Victory Month. 

They expressed hope that such creative and educational programmes will continue in the future.
