Passengers can now watch baggage handling live at Shahjalal airport

Passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will now be able to watch the entire baggage handling process live. The system will show luggage being unloaded from aircraft and transported to the baggage carousels.

The airport authorities have installed a total of 18 monitors (65-inch 4K) across all baggage carousel areas to enhance transparency in baggage handling.

In addition, 32 CCTV cameras have been installed in the baggage handling areas serving eight carousels, with four cameras covering each area.

The cameras will capture the unloading of luggage from aircraft, different stages of baggage handling and its delivery to the carousels, with the footage broadcast live on the monitors.

The system will allow passengers to track the handling and movement of their luggage in real time while waiting at the baggage claim area.

The initiative is expected to increase transparency in baggage handling and ease passengers’ concerns over the safety and whereabouts of their luggage.
