Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has foiled an attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push four Indian nationals into Bangladesh through the border in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia early on Sunday.
According to a press release issued by BGB-47 Battalion, the incident occurred at around 7:45am near border pillar 153/9-S, approximately 50 yards inside Indian territory, within the area of responsibility of the Thotapara Border Outpost (BOP) under Kushtia Battalion.
The four individuals, comprising two men and two women whose identities were not immediately known, were reportedly being pushed into Bangladesh by members of the BSF’s 146 Battalion from Uday Kishan Camp.
The attempt was foiled through the BGB’s alert position, immediate preventive measures and effective response, the press release said.
Following the BGB’s firm stance, the four individuals returned to Indian territory at around 8:00am, it added.
