Attempt to disrupt communal harmony won’t be tolerated: Nayab Yusuf

Member of Parliament Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf has said that any attempt to disrupt communal harmony in Faridpur will not be tolerated, as the district has long been known for its tradition of peaceful coexistence.

“It is our social and moral responsibility to ensure that people of all religions can celebrate their respective festivals in a safe and peaceful environment,” she said.

The lawmaker made the remarks at the eighth annual Sharadiya Agomoni festival and a clothes distribution programme held in Faridpur town on Friday afternoon.

Expressing optimism about the preparations and security arrangements for the upcoming Durga Puja, Nayab Yusuf said, “If everyone extends a helping hand, this year’s Durga Puja will be celebrated in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.” 

She added that they were working with the administration and local people to strengthen security at puja mandaps and maintain round-the-clock vigilance.
