The Special Response Battalion-6 members have detained four people during a drive in Railbazar area of Jashore town on Monday over hacking information of foreign nationals and making false documents through attaching information of Bangladeshi citizens to the hacked data.
During the drive, SRB members recovered fake driving
licenses, national identity cards and equipment used to make false documents
from the possessions of the detainees.
Speaking to the media, SRB-6 Jashore Company
Commander Major ATM Fazle Rabbi Prince said, “The group was carrying out their
activities for a long time in a rented house owned by one Lal Mia from
Railbazar area.”
“According to preliminary questioning, these fake
documents were being sold to those wishing to go abroad at a high price,” he
added.
Rabbi further said, “There are various allegations including
online scamming against the group. Legal process is underway to take actions
against the detainees.”
