The Psychological Review Foundation (PRF) organised a seminar on suicide prevention and mental health awareness at Kalshimati High School in Sherpur, Bogura, on Tuesday.
All teachers and students of the school attended the seminar, which was conducted by Nahida Sultana, administrator of PRF.
She discussed this year’s suicide prevention theme and provided practical guidance on preventing suicide, recognising warning signs of psychological distress and responding appropriately when someone may be at risk.

The seminar highlighted the importance of creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment in educational institutions. Teachers and students were encouraged to listen empathetically, take signs of emotional distress seriously and connect people in crisis with appropriate professional support.
Through practical discussions and examples, the participants learned how timely intervention, compassionate communication and collective responsibility can contribute to suicide prevention.
PRF provided the seminar free of charge to all teachers and students as part of its ongoing efforts to promote mental health awareness and strengthen suicide prevention initiatives in educational institutions.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on awareness, empathy and timely support to protect mental health and prevent suicide.
