Separate fire incidents took place in the capital’s Mohakhali and Dhanmondi areas on Thursday morning, prompting the Fire Service and Civil Defence to deploy several units to bring the blazes under control.

In Mohakhali, a fire broke out in an old building behind the British American Tobacco building. Three units from Tejgaon Fire Station were working to control the blaze.

According to the Fire Service, the fire originated from discarded plastic materials kept on the rooftop. An electrical substation is located on the third floor, near the affected area.
