Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman said on Friday that people of all religions in the country are observing their respective faiths peacefully, without any hindrance or fear.
“There will be no room for creating minimum
obstruction in practicing religion or observing religious rituals and
ceremonies. Those involved in such activities will be brought under the law
immediately after receiving the information,” he said.
He made the remarks at a Janmashtami
programme held at Mathbari Temple in Shailkupa of Jhenaidah.
Addressing the Hindu devotees present, the
minister said, “Lord Sri Krishna appeared 5,000 years ago and was born with the
purpose of destroying evil and all negative forces.”
Expressing optimism, he urged them to stand
by the govt when it works and speaks against the country’s evil forces.
He assured those present that the government
has a firm position on maintaining a congenial environment for practising
religion.
“You will celebrate your festival and the
government is by your side,” he said.
Later, the law minister joined a rally
organised on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Representatives from district administration
and local political leaders were present at the programme.
