A Dhaka court has set 11 January 2027 for hearing on framing charges against British MP Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and former RAJUK assistant law adviser Sardar Mosharraf Hossain in a case filed over the alleged unlawful acquisition of a flat in Gulshan-2.

Dhaka Special Judge-5 Court Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun fixed the new date on Tuesday after a hearing, said Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Mir Ahmed Ali Salam.

He said Mosharraf Hossain filed a petition with the High Court under Section 561A of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking quashing of the case.

The HC has stayed the proceedings of the case for one year, he said, adding that further proceedings will remain suspended until the High Court disposes of the petition.

On 8 April, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court transferred the case to Special Judge-5 for trial.

On 18 February, the court took cognisance of the charges against Tulip and Mosharraf and issued arrest warrants against them.

According to the case statement, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case on 15 April last year, accusing them of unlawfully acquiring a flat from Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2 without making any payment and misusing their positions.

After completing its investigation, the ACC submitted the charge sheet on 11 December 2025, under Sections 161, 165A, 467, 468, 471 and 109 of the Penal Code and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
